AP Names All-American 1st Team

Freshmen Kevin Durant and Greg Oden were voted to the AssociatedPress' All-America team Monday, the first members of their class so honored since 1989. Durant was the only unanimous selection, which seems fair... completely dominated the game all-around. One of the greatest freshmen to ever play college hoops.

Making the team along with Durant and Oden are Alando Tucker -Wisconsin-, Acie Law -Texas A&M-, & Arron Afflalo -UCLA-. All 5 deserved to be on here, I wouldn't take anyone else over any of them.

Big 10 and Big XII Conference Tourney Previews

BIG XII

As biased as this could be I really think that Kansas will be our Big XII Champ. Although I think you can look for some really great games. I think potentially KU vs. Tex Tech, Texas vs. Texas A&M will be great semifinal games. Especially Texas A&M vs. Texas: I feel like this game could sway either way but I'm going with A&M because I've seen quite a bit of the Aggies and Acie Law and I think they are legit. They have the edge with experience over a young Longhorns team. Look for the championship to be very hard-fought and close between Texas A&M and KU. But, aside from them being my team I'm taking KU. Acie Law is great but I can't pick against the likes of Rush, Wright, Chalmers and Robinson. This should be exceptional viewing so make sure to tune in for some of these games over spring break. This year's BIG XII tourney should be one of the better tournaments and I think we are all in for a treat.

BIG TEN

When a lot of people think of good college basketball they usually focus on the ACC, Big XII, and SEC. Really I can't argue with anyone there but I encourage you all to watch some of this year's BIG TEN tournament. I think it should be one of the better in recent years. Much like the BIG XII Tourney, I think the Semifinal games should be great to watch. Look for Ohio St. to beat Iowa but I think this game might be closer than people think. Personally, I feel the championship everyone wants to see (Wisconsin vs. Ohio St.) probably won't happen. I like Indiana to beat Wisconsin in a doozie. Then after the Semifinal upset look for them to play Ohio St. really tough. In the end Indiana nor Iowa (or really Wisconsin for that matter) have anyone who can REALLY match up against Mr. Greg Oden. Also if they focus in on Oden look for Freshman PG Mike Conley to be able to step up and hit the big shot. I was really tempted to go with Indiana here but Complete Sports did it for me. I'm sticking with Ohio St. to hold up and solidify their number 1 seed in the dance.

Kansas vs.Texas A&M Post-Game Analysis

What a Saturday it was in College Men's Basketball. It was a day of upsets as four top 10 teams fell. With the more particular one coming in Lawrence, Kansas.

This was the biggest game of the year in the Big 12 so far and it didn't disappoint. The victory was A&M's first over Kansas since the Big 12 was created in 1996, and the first for any Big 12 South Division team in Allen Field house since the start of the league. It left the Aggie's all alone in first place just three years after stumbling 0-16 through the conference season.

Both teams were a little slow in the first half as defense dominated early on. No team could get off to a fast start but Kansas lead for much of the half. The Aggie's defense showed right away why they're one of the best in the country. They did have a few sputters at times and some costly fouls, but the defense held its own early on.

The second half was a little different as it look liked Kansas would hang on in the end. But the Aggie's showed some poise, especially coming from senior guard Acie Law. Law didn't back down to the Jayhawks and showed why he is one of the top PG's in the country. He hit some big shots late in the game and just took over. The most particular shot coming from the three pointer late in the game to go ahead 67-66, and the Aggie's' first lead since it was 26-24 in the first half.

A&M's experience played a part in the victory over Kansas's young guns. Law completely took over, but it didn't matter which other Aggie's players were out there, he was still going to make plays.

Law deserves to be in consideration with Kevin Durant for National player of the year, especially if he keeps the Aggie's in first place of the Big 12. Texas A&M is now off and running; with Acie Law leading the way, there's no way you can count the Aggie's out of the national title picture.
